The memorial will be on Saturday 6-12-21 in the New Apostolic Church in Woodbury NY. The worship will start about 12:30 and the sermon at 1:00 pm eastern standard time. Additional details will be provided. But the date and time is set.
The memorial service will be streamed live on a YouTube live link for family, church family, and friends in Puerto Rico, Chicago, Florida, Texas, Mexico and all across the USA, Canada, and anywhere else where someone chooses to attend. Amazingly, I have gotten requests to attend from Germany, South Africa, Bangladesh, and I am sure other places. With YouTube Live, they have the capacity to handle the streaming worldwide no matter how many people attend online. The link, and a window to the memorial will be on the RosemaryPhelps.info website
I have been trying to think of something that symbolizes Rose and there really wasn’t anything that really could. But in the past weeks, a saying was mentioned so may times and I would like this to be the theme at least in our hearts:
“To Love and to be loved”. Rose embodiment of love was always so amazing. Her love for God, for family, and for others is the reason why she inspired us all. Her optimism and faith and all who she was was at the core of her. There was no show or act or ulterior motives. She just embodied Love.
Anyone who has a desire to do something special for Rose at the memorial service, and has practiced and ready, you are welcome to contribute. I have asked Liz Gauthier to coordinate all of the timing of the musical pieces. This does not mean that you can’t reach out to me for music ideas. but I asked her to oversee it so that it is handled properly as I want the day to be special and full of Love as Rose wanted. I do ask however, if you plan on performing, that you notify Liz immediately as I have asked her to set up a cut off time on requests to perform at least 5 days before the memorial. And yes because we have limited time together, their are limited slots. There will be practice time at the Woodbury location and I have asked the church to be open hopefully at 10:00 am that day just for the musicians.
There may be a family greeting before the memorial, but after the ceremony, the building needs to need to undergo sanitation for the next day. I know in days past, we would wear out our welcome. But this unfortunately is still a pandemic time.
If you are traveling to NY. Please observe all pandemic safety protocols. And should protocols change and we have to adjust, we will do so according to the legal guidelines. Because family and people are travelling here, we will observe social distancing and request that all that attend the memorial to wear a mask unless they are speaking or singing. I know Rose heart on this issue and she would want everyone to attend safely, and with the travel, I would humbly ask everyone to be cautious.

Because of current protocols, a cookies and coffee greet or fellowship after the memorial I just found out is not an option.
